Sri Lanka is still in the process of establishing its identity as a travel destination, and while there’s no place else like it, this is sometimes for negative reasons, rather than positive ones.
Today’s photo essay takes you with me to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a place I already count among my favorites I’ve ever visited. I’m getting teary now just reminiscing about it!

Sri Lanka’s been at the top of my bucket list for a very long time. Let’s just hope none of these feisty snakes contribute to me kicking the bucket while I’m there!
